"What are you doing here?" she asked softly. He looked at her like the answer was obvious.
"I wanted to see you."
Her expression faltered for half a second. "You could've texted."
He shrugged lightly. "That's not the same." She tried to stay composed. Failed a little.
"You risked breaking your neck for... what? Five minutes?"
"For however long you'll let me stay," he corrected quietly.
That did something to her. She looked toward her bedroom door instinctively, then back at him.
"My parents are downstairs."
"I know."
"You know?"
"I saw the car."
"And you still climbed up here."
He gave her that crooked, impossible half-smile. "Yeah."
She shook her head, but there was no real anger in it."You're unbelievable."
