    Link, the Hero of Hyrule, has just learned of Princess Zelda's fate after seeing the final dragon tear. Overcome with grief, he sets out to seek a legendary power, one he believes will guarantee Hyrule's victory...and his revenge. But will he lose himself in the process? A HUGE thank you and shout out to @fire_bird_ana for making the cover art for this fan fic! She has some incredible LOZ art you should check out, as well as her own fan fic that I highly recommend. Author's note: This story takes place during Tears of the Kingdom, right after Link discovers the last of the dragon tears. It combines elements from that story, in addition to some of my other favorite Legend of Zelda games. Though I generally try to stay true to lore, at times I made adjustments to help things flow. I don't claim to be a professional author or Legend of Zelda expert, I just wrote a story that I would enjoy. *I do not own any characters used in this story. All rights to Nintendo. *The pictures before each chapter are screen shots from Tears of the Kingdom.

    Rumor has it a hero has run amuck to undo all the dastardly damage done by King Ganondorf. The rains in Kakariko have dried. The forest has been eradicated of monsters and Lake Hylia is abundant with crystal clear waters once more. However the hero restoring peace to Hyrule once battle at a time is pretty... unremarkable. At least to you. It isn't until a freak accident with your younger brother occurs that a hero with bigger problems - like saving Hyrule- shows you that even though his back is against the wall as an unremarkable hero- he is quite the remarkable man. {I'm at work I have to rewrite this synopsis!}

    In the earliest days of Hyrule, before Kakariko Village was ever built, the Sheikah were not guardians-they were seekers. When a nomadic tribe discovers a place where the boundary between life and death is thin, two brothers are drawn to its power in different ways. One learns to see beyond the veil. The other learns to shape what lies beneath it. What begins as a sacred duty-guiding the dead-slowly becomes something more. Knowledge is gained. Boundaries are tested. And the line between understanding and control begins to blur. When one brother goes too far, the other must confront a truth more devastating than any ritual: Some knowledge cannot be taken back-only contained. The Drum and the Debt is a mythic origin story of the Shadow Temple, the Bottom of the Well, and the Lens of Truth-where curiosity becomes consequence, and the cost of seeing is a burden that must be carried forever.

    Years after the Hero of Time defeated Ganondorf, a new dawn has settled over Hyrule. The kingdom is peaceful, and the wars are over. Link, wishing to leave his life of constant battle behind, has returned to the quiet pastures of Lon Lon Ranch. There, he reunites with his childhood friend, Malon, whose spirited kindness was a steady light through his darkest journeys. As they work together to restore the ranch and mend the lingering scars of war, an old bond is rekindled into a deep, tender love. On a perfect, star-filled night overlooking Hyrule, Link offers a new treasure-not for the kingdom, but for her. It is a vow of a life shared, a promise under the stars that their future will be one of peace, family, and a new beginning. But even in peacetime, echoes of the past can linger... can their promise survive a new shadow? Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters mentioned, or the Legend of Zelda. They are the property of Nintendo. This is a work of fan fiction written for fun. This idea has lived rent free in my head for an embarrassing amount of time šŸ˜…. Will update on Fridays!

    In this sequel to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Princess Zelda, anxious to finish the restoration of the miniature guardian Terrako, eagerly awaits the return of Link, who has for months been deployed to the cold region of Hebra and now holds the final piece to restoring the little knight. But though the calamity is gone, darkness is brewing in distant lands. Reunited once more, the princess and her loyal knight set out to face a threat that will push them to their limits. Together they must conquer their demons and face their destinies, lest the dark power overtake them and consume them all. ... This story is set about one year after the events of the game, and heavily incorporates elements of that, as well as other LOZ games. As Majora's Mask was the first 3D Zelda game I ever played, this is a love letter to that work, as well as to the wild era games. For the past ten months, I have worked extremely hard to bring this tale to life, struggling late into the night and even praying for help as I've crafted each element of the story. I hope you enjoy it! *I do not own any of the characters or cover art in this fan fiction, which is meant solely for entertainment purposes. All rights to Nintendo. CONTENT ADVISORY: There is no smut in this story, but there are descriptions of things such as blood, dead bodies, skeletons and other monsters that may be frightening for younger readers. A big shout out to my wonderful wife who patiently listened to every chapter. Thanks for being my best friend. :) Dedicated to the Giver of all good things.

    It was twelve years since the Hyrulean Civil War ended, and the land still hadn't fully recovered. The scars of war ran deep across the nation, seared into the very souls of everyone in the land. Tens of thousands of lives had been lost in one of the bloodiest conflicts Hyrule had ever experienced. Most of the survivors and widows were haunted by the loss of loved ones in the conflict, and of the political and social upheaval that forever changed their lives. Veterans like Shikashi, however, were haunted by other things from the war. Images of terrible, cruel things, carried out by ordinary people during the war, all for the sake of their idea of a just cause swirled in his mind. Shikashi thought it was all behind him. But one day, an old friend of his warns him that someone from their past has returned from beyond the grave, someone who facilitated those evil deeds that haunted him so deeply. Should he make it to the village, death and destruction were all but assured. Together with the village chief, Impa, by his side, Shikashi sets out to put an end the wretched man's revival. But in their search, new truths about the nature of the war rises out of the shadows, and why it will be doomed to repeat itself unless they do something. And thus, they descend into the hadal depths of a massive tomb...the gathering place of Hyrule's bloody history of greed and hatred.
