It hadn't occurred to Esme that she should be suspicious of her parents, they were just ordinary people after all. But when an unknown number won't stop texting her, the questions start coming. Was the accident really the cause of her amnesia? Why did her parents speak five languages suddenly? How was it that Esme could suddenly assemble and disassemble guns? Who exactly was Agent 23? Maybe one of these days she could get back to her sappy daydreams of her incredible coworker. That itself seemed like a dream.

Disclaimer - I don't own Avatar: The Last Airbender. This is one of my ONC projects for 2024 and a giftfic for my friend Kelsey Alicia. For this story I am using prompt fifty-five, "you're a young royal in disquise who befriends a villager with a scarred face. One day they are arrested for stealing something you gave to them." Note - While I choose to ignore anything from LoK or the comics that retcons AtLA content I'm not against using content that doesn't, hence the use of existing Southern Water Tribe characters from the comics in addition to creating new ones, but certainly none of this strange idea of a tribe being a colony of another tribe or a tribe voting their chieftain(s) in instead of the tradition of heredity and/or earning the position through ones own merit. As such, the Southern Water Tribe is reverted to an actual sister tribe to the Northern Water Tribe, aka an actual tribe rather than a colony and Hakoda is back to being the head chieftain as implied by what Sokka says about being the equivalent to a prince in his tribe to Princess Yue which, on top of the fact there's no way Hakoda would have gotten that many boats from a single village, indicates Hakoda was always head-chieftain.

After years of struggling to make it as an actor, Daniel Shephard is finally about to make it big. He's landed the lead in a superhero movie. He's about to be Captain Universe with the whole world. That is, if he can make it to his agent in time to sign the contract. Which is easier said than done, as Daniel wakes up, only a few days before the need to sign the contract, in a locked room with no escape. He doesn't know who's abducted him or why. The only clue he has is the manuscript pushed in under the door. A script so terribly bad, it physically pains him to read it. Now Daniel is forced to act out the script--while wearing increasingly ludicrous costumes--and deliver a performance of a lifetime, to appease the manic author who has him trapped, before he loses his spot in the limelight. *** This is an ONC story, using prompt #6: Walking down the street, a stranger approaches you. When Jennisa delivers a spaceship database to a suspicious group, she covertly takes a copy of the group's files when she helps them connect it. She gets far more than she bargained for when the young spaceship AI figures out how to use her Bluetooth implant to communicate with her. To further complicate matters, the AI wants nothing to do with the suspicious group and finds her work absolutely fascinating. And the group isn't happy about that... Standalone novella. An Open Novella Contest 2020 Longlist Finalist Arabella W. Washington recently moved to Lower East Side, Manhattan, to do something with her life and start fresh. With the help of her grandma Wang's sizeable inheritance, she is able to rent out Apartment 10B in Windsor Hall, a small, old, and creaky building full of history and personality, which harbors a secret of its own. Food in her refrigerator and utensils in the cupboard starts going missing, and at exactly 6:00 in the evening, she gets the feeling that she is being watched. What is happening in 10B?
