Lunette, a witch's cat, helps her little witch get through school. For ONC 2024, using prompt #84: A witchy tale from the perspective of the familiar. Aiming for a low stakes, cozy fantasy. For a while I've wanted to make an rpg game on this theme, so I thought I'd use the opportunity to write some of the story. We'll see how it goes! Unless otherwise specified, any art is by me :)

The impressive boarding school sits among swathes of green foliage whose simian residents are playful as they are unruly. As if their tailed neighbors aren't enough of a problem, the school's matrons seem dedicated to make their lives a living hell. The infamous Madam Matron rules with an iron fist, her unrelenting force intensified against the old mattresses they're forced to sleep on. Fern learns all this in barely a month of her enrolment into Wailmouth College. Her arrival, however, had sparked a chain of bizarre events within the gates of the school. Amesh is the fourth and youngest child of the Suriname family, a family of well known superheroes that protect not only their world but others that surround it. While his siblings are out saving the world, Amesh is at home playing Mango Life. Unlike his siblings, Amesh has no interest in being the hero of the story, he prefers to be normal. And like all normal teenage boys he locks himself in his room and plays video games all day and night, only to come out when the dinner bell rings. The only family member you don't want to piss off is Momma Suriname, and dinner is always reserved for family meal time. It was a normal family dinner time, the Powerhouses were relaying their adventures of the day, Father and Momma Suriname gleamed at the tales, and Amesh drank his strawberry mango smoothie. This is a story in which some may believe fairytales are all make believe, and just all a fantasy. But, hang on!! They're actually real! Read any further, and I will have to gouge your eyes out! The time remaining to take the oath is dwindling, but the MacDonalds of Glencoe are already pledged to the old king. As the snow starts to fall and friends become indistinguishable from foe, will this family be able to survive through the cruelty of these changing times?

She frequently sneaks away from the castle to meet with Edelyn, a sorceress and foreigner who is hiding in the capital. With rising tensions among the people and a new initiative by the King to rid the kingdom of anyone who doesn't belong there, Edelyn must leave Valoria and return home. As the girls share a painful goodbye, Pandora slips a precious object into Edelyn's hands. She doesn't have any idea that her action will put her lover in jeopardy until Edelyn shows up at the castle in chains. Pandora is left with no choice but to condemn her to the dungeons. She could never imagine that this decision would shatter not only her relationship, but also her entire worldview. When rebel's attack the castle, her life is shaken upside down once again and she must give in to their demands in order to regain her power.
