They met in a not-so-good time at a so-good-to-be-true place. They proved that distance is not a hindrance to their love. But life is never fair. The place where everything started, is where everything will end.

"Jenna, " she started off. "Remember Alex? Your best friend?" She paused. Tingles fell through my body. Alex Sanders was my best friend. We did every single thing together. We went to beaches, gyms, school, everything. We talked about stuff and watched our fav Tom And Jerry movie, and pretended to be pirates on his sofa. We played Wii Sports, Golf, and we would slide down his dark sofas recline. We were unbreakable. Literally. We would do the most silliest things. I would force him to play dolls with me for 30 minutes, then we would play soccer. Sleepovers happened twice a month. But the worst thing happened. Alex moved to California in grade 5.And I never saw him again. At first we would email, text, everything. But sooner my grades and his got higher, so we didn't have much time to text or FaceTime. And as I matured, I created more friends too. But Alex is my best friend, like my brother, and he has a soft spot in my heart. "Yes, " i softly replied, looking at my nails.

It all started when you were a kid, you used to live in outer Banks but after your 12th birthday your parents decided to move to Chicago and you had to leave behind your best friend John b and even though you kept contact with him it was hard. 2 weeks ago you found out that you were going to spend all summer at outer Banks since your parents and your brother were going on a trip for your brother's football and apparently the plane didn't have enough place for you but it's okay because you're going to outer Banks paradise on earth.

For as long as she can remember she dreaded spending the summer with bratty, spoiled cousins and a well off Grandma who houses sixty percent of her Mom's family. One of which is a current resident of her Gram's house. The other is from her math class and seems to understand more than anyone being the odd one out. It was summer when we came back to each other. It was a wonderful feeling, we were happy but we also know that things don't work like how we want to. Sometimes we need to sacrifice our happiness for the better.
