One Word is a collection of poetry that has themes of love, depression, and questioning others, All with one word.

As a way to boost morale during the pandemic-induced quarantine, the 12 Short Stories (where the goal is to write 12 short stories in a year) crew created a new daily challenge, the Keep Writing Challenge. In this collection are some of my favorite stories I wrote through this challenge.

"Hey." That voice, it's toxic. and that one word was all I needed to fall head over heels for him. I am June Smith, a fresh Senior. I only have one more year before college, and I can't wait. I want to get out of this small town of like 200 people, and I wanna go to a city. That is my goal. I'm a straight "A" student, and my grades me so much to me. Everything was going according to plan, until, Alexander Foster, started to pay attention to me. He is the most handsomest man I have ever seen, or the school has ever seen; not only does he have good looks but very good grades as well. He is rich, and evey girl wants him. Eventually I gave in and started to date him, in my Junior year. That only lasted about 4 months, until I caught him cheating on me. I was heart broken, everything went to hell. This year, my Senior year, I am a new person and no man is going to get in my way. Except one.
