Every year since the second Open Novella I've kept a writing journal and this is the one for this year.

Rachel worked hard, looking forward to the vacation she saved up for, a break from family troubles, only for troubles to find her as the paparazzi take an interest in a certain pop idol and some of the other things going on at the Pokemon Resort, including her brother's friend group which includes a not-friend but rival who believes his mother is an alien. Because while Pokemon exist, aliens don't, right? Disclaimer - I don't own Voltron: Legendary Defender or Pokemon Concierge. This is one of my Open Novella projects for 2024. The main prompt is prompt nine, "After some long months of working harder than ever, you finally get to your well deserved vacation getaway but when you arrive at the hotel there is this one star that brings all the paparazzi and trouble with them and makes your vacation a one to remember." I'm also working with prompt four, "When life gives you ballons, you fly up into the sky," prompt thirteen, "Every family has that one member of whom no one speaks, and that's you, prompt thirty-one, "'Your Mom was an alien.' Exactly what a child needs t hear from their father as a bedtime story," and prompt thirty-four, "You wanted to go to the moon, see the silvery white glow of it for yourself. Instead, the moon came to you. One day, at your door."

Ryo stopped appearing in Japan or anywhere else as the pop idol Doragonhanata, but decides to return when the world learns upon Sam's return of the Galra threat to help boost morale. He finds himself met with questions regarding why he disappeared from the public eye. One of the sisters of the missing cadets, Rachel, personally doubts his motivations, yet feels he wouldn't understand how she feels about having a family somewhere in the universe fighting the Galra. The Novella Awards 2020 - bring along your story and shine.

Hermione grew up reading fairy tales and other stories as an escape from her Cinderella-like life with her stepmother, her father none the wiser because of Ursula's underhanded tactics. Then, she learned magic was real, that the fairy tales--perhaps magic being real isn't a happily ever after fairy tale, but more akin to the nightmares painted by the Brothers Grimm. Disclaimer - I don't own Harry Potter or Worst Witch. This is one of my ONC projects for 2024. This is written for prompt thirty-six, "'Fairytales are real,' and there couldn't be anything worse.." The Cinderella storyline provides the main elements, but there are also elements from other fairy tale stories. This also fulfills a prompt for a collection on AO3.

The Fire Nation understands the need for a male heir to Crown Prince Iroh after the death of his son Lu Ten, yet they're far from thrilled with the choice being Prince Zuko, the son of the man who tried killing Fire Lord Azulon, forgetting the boy's father tried killing the young prince as he might be just as unhinged as not only his father but his own sister. Disclaimer - I don't own Avatar: The Last Airbender. This was written for Open Novella 2024 and is a giftfic for my friend Kelsey; it's also an alternative universe to my fanfic series To Lose or To Gain where the Fire Nation doesn't know how unhinged Ozai is and instead thinks he willingly gave his first-born son to his older brother. As for the prompt, I'm using prompt ninty-nine which resulted in this AU popping into my head, "The royal family needs a male heir to the throne, and they're willing to accept any boy, even if he's born to their least hinged relative."

Despite his protests, Alaine pushes Tobias to use his abilities to present a solution. He realises avoiding his past is ineffective and must confront his Fae heritage to prevent a cataclysmic war.

When he was sixteen, Lu Ten thought the Fire Nation would change the world. At age thirty, he realized it wasn't the world that needed changing, right at the same time some of his not so clever life choices started catching up to him. It was time to become wise, like someone he greatly admired, even if he couldn't do anything with said wisdom. Disclaimer - I don't own Avatar: The Last Airbender. This is both a giftfic for a good friend of mine, KelseyAlicia who encouraged me to go the route of Lu Ten/Ursa in my To Lose or to Gain series, but also an ONC project. While parts of this story arc are AU to where I intend on taking the To Lose or to Gain series others are not.
