4 people are on a coma. Zoe, Matt, Annalee, and Peyton. They are journeying through their dreams to escape the coma. Some of those dreams are very similar to video games. But they are all on the coma side.

I see it everyday. A girl coming home and smashing her mirror because she doesn't like how she looks in it. She calls herself names i couldn't bare listen to myself. She compares herself to so many others. She comes home from a school dance messy haired, mascara running down her cheeks. A maroon dress that looks as if a goddess would wear if they still wandered the earth. Her mom hits on the door hoping she'd get an answer from her broken daughter. She breaks down on her mother and hopes in her head she will fade away. I see it also. Another person, a man this time. He looks in the mirror and gives himself praises. Makes himself seem as if he is the king of everything when he wasn't elected in the first place. He comes home from the gym all sweaty and allows himself to be called all these names i can't listen to without being disgusted and feeling absolutely revolted. He has come home with so many wo

"beneath these eyes" is another weird one (honestly, all my writing is strange it's had multiple titles (including the title 'creatures' which i teased on instagram), a lot of rewrites, and has taken the longest to write. i found myself struggling to come up with ideas. at times i was so frustrated with writing that i contemplated restarting the whole project. i felt a lot of self doubt with my writing. i didn't feel it was good enough, or good at all. this book was also written during a very rough time in my life, which inspired several pieces in here. enough about that; what's the book about? well, a lot. the title really sets up the theme; everyone has something to hide and everyone is different inside. everyone's got a different 'them' inside their mind, one that outsiders cannot see. this book is about learning that there's two sides to everything, even a person. hope you enjoy.
