1994 - Valentine Peters loves music and doesn't know where she would be without it. Singing was her way to escape from reality and writing music was the easiest way for her to express her emotions. She had never known anyone as invested in music as she was until she began to bond with her cousin Reggie's best friend Luke. They begin to bond over their love for music but it could end up being too late before they finally realize their feelings for each other. 2020 - Valentine Peters is now known as Valentine Harrison to her friends, family and fellow detectives in the LAPD. She is happily married and has a son who attends her old high school, the high school she attended with her now deceased cousin Reggie. It's been about 25 years since Reggie, her best friend Alex and her old crush Luke died. She hadn't thought about them in a while until the daughter of Valentine's close friend Ray Molina joins a band and her new bandmates look exactly the boys of Sunset Curve. Some chapters will be pre-julie and the phantoms whereas some will be during the same time of julie and the phantoms. The chapters that are set in the year 1994 take place when Alex, Luke and Reggie were still alive and attended high school with Valentine Peters. The chapters that are set in the year 2020 take place 25 years after Valentine had to deal with Alex, Luke and Reggie's deaths.
