What makes this a fun read is the slightly flawed good guys, the babes with beauty, brains and brawn, and the magical characters Thisrena and Ith, the thnake that thpeaks with a lithp. Recommended reading.  ·· J.D. King **** - This is a good story, full of magic and some very surprising characters and twists... Charming and mysterious characters, magical creatures, and not-so-perfect foes make this a fun read.  ·· Patricia Hamill on Goodreads   **** I was intrigued with the story from the very beginning… R.L. Kiser has written chapter one so deftly to reel in readers’ curiosity to keep reading. Characterization is superb; both heroes and villains have flaws leading to humorous moments… plot development is fresh. Kiser’s flawless writing style helps keep the plot tight throughout the story as well as maintain a good pacing. On the whole, a satisfying read and a great start for a series. ·· Lit Amri for Readers' Favorite

I'd recommend it.  ·· JD King   ***** The power of the Crystal and the power of the crystal warriors makes for a great battle scene. Tarina is one tough and beautiful young lady.  ·· W.R. Masters  ***** Excellent story. I devoured this book in a day and a half... Overall, I enjoyed the banter between the various characters, the insight into the hierarchy of the Crystal City, and, of course, the intrigue behind the battle between the forces of good and evil. A 6'5" starship captain flees a lost war and lands on Earth in 1600s feudal Japan. Imagine the possibilities! Culture Clash! A tall white man from an advanced space traveling culture lands in primitive 1600s feudal Japan. The disparity is obvious. This can go one of two ways. Either the locals can be instantly on the defensive and try to kill or capture this tall interloper, or they can try to learn who and what he is. Which will it be? Reviews: ***** Great fun! This book is just a lot of fun! With flavors of Samurai and Steam-punk adding spice, it rocks along from delight to surprise, and all along it is highly satisfying. Oh, on first reading, towards the end I thought maybe it bogged down. But it is the sort of book you want to re-read as soon as you finish it, because it was just so much fun. The story continues apace, right to the last page. And the ending is a pure delight. Don't peek, you won't get it. But I can assure you: it will give you huge satisfaction, and you will be glad you chose to read this book. •• William Fletcher **** ...Overall, this is an entertaining book on many levels. There is real-life and science fiction technology, laser fights and battles between uneven forces where the underdog must overcome long odds, strong women who overcome social barriers and can hold their own, and a little mystical and technological awesomeness in the main character Kendrick. Those who enjoy humorous situations and camaraderie will find more than a sufficient dose in this book to satisfy their funny bones. •• Patricia Hamill on Goodreads ***** Exciting - this is the most appropriate word to describe Exile. Author R.L. Kiser put a bit of everything in the story. Simply put, Exile is a stellar work from Kiser, with appealing characters and an absorbing tale. •• Lit Amri for Readers' Favorite

The forgotten temple of the Goddess Narine, the mystical Lady Mist, and a new army controlled by evil. Will they overcome such tremendous odds?   The deep desert is a vast wasteland, thousands of miles of shifting sands and blowing winds. Ancient obelisks are discovered leading to the forgotten temple of the Goddess Narine. The reading of the Twelve Tablets brings forth a mystical being, but also releases a powerful evil. All the people of the eastern and deep desert are in peril. Those possessed by the evil must be stopped before it can be brought back into balance. Can it be done?   Don't miss this exciting tale of an ancient Goddess, mystical evil, and epic battles! Reviews: ***** ...What I most enjoy about this story is the ability of the author to draw one into the minds of his characters, even those who happen to be on the "wrong" side of the battle. Additionally, the banter is natural and entertaining, the characters are complex and dynamic, and the battles are epic and exciting. On that note, few authors are able to narrate a battle with such skill that they can keep me from skimming through them, but R.L. Kiser is one of them.  ·· Patricia Hamill on Goodreads **** R.L. Kiser has created a really epic trilogy with the Tales of the Crystal series and I have loved each one more than the other. The Twelve Tablets is fast paced and it really forces your brain to try to keep up with all of the action, while at the same time keeping you engaged in the characters. For me, this book is very character driven and I like that fact. Each character is well fleshed out and you can picture them in your mind and understand why they choose to do the actions they do. Lovers of fantasy are really going to enjoy this last installment of the series because it hits all the key points you like to see in well written fantasy work. I am glad that I started reading this series and would highly recommend it. ·· Kathryn Bennett for Readers' Favorite

Along the way she is joined by a disparate group from many walks of life. But there are powerful forces that would see to her undoing. Will she accomplish this monumental task? Reviews: ***** Whoa, slow down there, Turbo! A sexy babe with muscles, training, and ability. A guy with a laser sword, a giant, ancient warriors. This has it all. You did it again, dude. What a great story.  ·· J.D. King   ***** Strong start. OMG, love the cover! The description in the book of the girl and her outfit (and why it's so scanty) is believable and impressive. If I hadn't seen the cover pic, I think I would have pictured the same girl.  ·· Anymous (Goodreads)   ***** ...Overall, I really liked this book, though I can only make it through one or two battle scenes in a single sitting (probably why it took me a while to read the story). The characters are charismatic and their banter is humorous. I enjoyed the magical elements and the hints at a greater history.  ·· Patricia Hamill on Goodreads

A Western Detective/Lawman Novel A killer leads three lawmen a merry chase into dangerous renegade Kiowa territory. How will they get out of this one? A Harvard educated Indian, his 6'2" cowboy partner, and a long-past-retirement sharp old deputy track a clever killer across the desert, to Chicago, find themselves in the midst of renegade Kiowas, and get lost in a mountain avalanche. How will they extricate themselves from this one? Tyrone Narrowhawk: a Harvard educated Indian known as Hawk, raised by a powerful federal judge, given a U.S. Marshal’s star and sent covertly into the western territories using his wits and a gun. Merle Johnson: a former Calvary Lieutenant sharp shooter turned cowboy, a good make to have at your back. Pike Winslow: an old cowboy lawman well past retirement age that hasn’t slowed down a bit. In his day he taught Hawk a few things. Many others make up this adventures tale of daring-do in the old west. Reviews: ***** I don't know which I liked better, Educated Injun (book 1) or Chicago Chase (book 2). I'm glad I read them both.  ·· W.R. Masters   **** I loved the detail and the interplay between the characters. The author also did a fine job of describing the chase through the town and the handcar process. The imagery was specific enough for me to picture everything in my mind, but not so much so that it bogged down the action.  Overall, I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to folks who love a good western, a good chase or mischievous characters with a lot of personality (gotta' love how Hawk always manages to snag one or more of the Judge's cigars).  ·· Patricia Hamill on Goodreads

A Western Detective/Lawman Novel Don't miss this fun tale of an Indian US Marshal and his 6'2" cowboy partner against clever criminals in the old west.  In the late 1800s old American west a full blooded, Harvard educated American Indian is sent covertly into the lawless west to investigate illegal doings. But these businessmen are clever and will do whatever is necessary to protect their nefarious efforts. Hawk and his 6'2" cowboy partner must outwit their opponents. Can it be done before they are shot and killed? Tyrone Narrowhawk: known as Hawk, raised by a powerful federal judge, educated at an eastern college, graduated with honors, law degree from prestigious Harvard University, a U.S. Marshal’s star, his wits, and a gun. Merle Johnson: a former Calvary Lieutenant sharp shooter turned cowboy just trying to make his way in life when circumstances turn him upside down. Steely-eyes: an intelligently cold, calculating killer, henchman for Dunston and company. Many others compete in this exciting tale of wits and gun battles in the old west.   Reviews: **** Very Entertaining... I find this book to be very entertaining and full of action. It is also different! I enjoyed the Western style composure of this book and there is no dull moment. It keeps you in suspense! I plan to recommend it to my friends because I enjoyed it.  ·· Tamarah   ***** A good read with characters you like. I'd recommend it.  ·· W.R. Masters   ****  I most enjoyed the fast paced, action driven storyline and the tongue-in-cheek banter between Merle and Hawk (and between Hawk and the judge that put him through college). Besides that, I got a kick out of Merle's nemesis, a certain shoulder cannon with, well, a kick.  In summary, Educated Injun is action-packed, funny, clever, and entertaining.  ·· Patricia Hamill on Goodreads
