A Fault Town is a fictional term for a symbolic location in a person's personal mythology, tied to the moments that define us, the people we lose, and the memories we cannot leave behind. Readers may notice similarities in certain themes, character dynamics, humor, emotional moments, and coming-of-age elements. Some characters and ideas were inspired by the feelings those stories gave me as a reader. However, Looking for the Fault Towns is an original story with its own plot, mysteries, characters, settings, and narrative direction. It is not intended to be a retelling or continuation of any existing work.
