HEART//CODE Dans un futur où l'air extérieur est devenu toxique, les derniers survivants de l'humanité vivent enfermés dans d'immenses villes protégées par des dômes. Dans la cité de Noxis, un groupe révolutionnaire renverse le gouvernement jugé trop pacifique. Mais une fois au pouvoir, le nouveau régime instaure un système terrifiant appelé « La Terreur ». Chaque habitant reçoit un badge électronique relié directement à son cœur et associé à une couleur. Toutes les heures, une couleur est désignée comme cible pendant dix minutes. Les autres citoyens doivent alors traquer et tuer les porteurs de cette couleur pour gagner des points échangeables contre de la nourriture, des armes, des médicaments ou des privilèges. Les plus riches peuvent même utiliser leurs points pour libérer de monstrueuses créatures dans les différents secteurs de la ville. Gabriel, un jeune homme ordinaire, découvre alors que son badge est le seul à changer de couleur pour devenir, à chaque fois, la couleur ciblée. Alors que la ville sombre peu à peu dans la paranoïa et la violence, Gabriel trouve refuge auprès d'un petit groupe de survivants. Ensemble, ils découvrent que derrière « La Terreur » se cachent des mensonges bien plus grands encore. Le monde extérieur est-il réellement inhabitable ? Les monstres sont-ils vraiment ce qu'on leur a raconté ? Et jusqu'où le gouvernement est-il prêt à aller pour conserver le contrôle ?
