"What's the guy's name anyway?" Jake continues with a laugh, he points his gun down a hall. "Clear." We walk down the hallway. "I get it ok?!" I snap. He looks taken aback. "What do you get?" "You hate me ok. I've heard enough." I look away from him. "I-I don't hate you." He manages. "Yes you do!" I argue in a shout. "No I don't!" He yells back. "Yes you do!" I repeat in a scream. "Of course you freaking do!" "No I don't hate you!" He disagrees. "Ya-" I start but he interrupts me. "I don't hate you because I love you!" Jake shouts, now it's my turn to be surprised. "I don't hate you because I'm in love with you." He repeats. "Because every time you talk to me about a guy the only thing I have is my humour an-and jokes otherwise I'm just sad and in love and lonely. And that's just crap. It's crap that I love you so strongly that it physically hurts just to be around you. It hurts to be around you while your not mine. While Teddy is there or whoever you're seeing right now. Because I have to watch them hold you and kiss you and love you. And I can't do any of that. So I-" his voice cracks a little. "So I joke around to protect myself from the pain. Brooklyn Nine-Nine fanfiction. I don't own anything. Jake runs into some trouble while working on a case with Charles and Amy gets most of the original 9-9 involved in his rescue.

Jake and Amy Peralta have been married for 18 months. It had been the best 18 months of their lives. They were more in love than ever before. They finally thought they were used to married life, but were they? When a surprise comes along, do they cope with it? Or does it cause problems in their otherwise happy marriage?

Jake shows upto to Holt's doorstep one night, he's shivering, bleeding and scared. There's also a slightly dazed look in his eye and the fact that he can't bring himself to look into Holt's eye. Swaying slightly, and swallowing his pride he can't help but collapse into his shoulder.

An AU story.

After weeks of working one gruelling drug case, Jake finally gets a lead that can get him to one of the biggest suppliers in the city. However when the bust goes sideways, Jake ends up disappearing into thin air, his badge and gun discarded on the road and his radio smashed into thousands of pieces. After a year of searching, the nine-nine are still unable to find the missing detective and Amy, as well as the other detectives on that case, start to believe he's dead. By some miracle, however, one year after the detective goes missing, he shows up randomly in the precinct to report a crime. The one problem, he doesn't recognise the building or anyone inside of it. Jake is the English teacher, Amy teaches math, Charles teaches Home Ec, Gina is the guidance counselor, Terry is the gym teacher, Scully teaches art class, Hitchcock teaches chemistry, Rosa is the security guard, and Holt is the principal. Brooklyn Nine Nine High School has an odd assortment of staff. Jake Peralta's students get the highest grades in any English class, despite his carefree attitude, much to the annoyance of his by-the-book colleague, Amy Santiago, who can't seem to find a way to make math class fun. Finals are coming up, and all the students are stressed. Gina can't take any more kids coming to her, crying over their report cards, drowning away their sorrows through substance abuse. Rosa's getting tired of chasing after students that are smuggling cans of beer. Principal Holt expects the teachers to make sure Brooklyn Nine Nine doesn't lose its place as the #11 best high school in New York by the end of the year.
