Switching between Erik's and Gustave's point of view, it tells the story of what happens after Christine died. Gustave learns some disturbing secrets about his true father. Then, the story takes place eight years later with Gustave going through some family initiation where he, Erik, Madame Giry, Meg, and Miss Fleck bump into an old friend. The library. The only place where 18 year old Dan Howell can escape his (abusive) parents. His life has been terrible. Parents always fighting. Parents being drunk. What a happy life, right? It wasn't until one day at the library, a new boy named Phil decided to visit the library. After encountering each other whilst trying to grab the same book and start talking, they instantly realize they share things in common. When Dan decided to tell Phil this "cute" little thing couples do, Phil decides to do it, too. For him. For the boy he had just met in the library. TW: Abusive parenting, mentions of self-harm. Not very major, though. Genre: Fluff, some angst This is basically a Teen!Phan phanfic and an AU.

Dan has synesthesia and finds pleasure in his music. Phil is colour blind and wishes to see the world. When Phil Lester and his family move in across the hall from the Howells, Dan agrees to take Phil on mini adventures in exchange for £20 per adventure so Dan can afford his own piano.

Maybe Phan, maybe another ship. Maybe not even a ship. it could be a boat...

Phil is the student director in his school play, and he hates actors, well he hates Dan Howell.
