Hidden between islands and concealed by enchanted seas, the Balangaw Institute of Arcane Arts is more than a school of magic-it is a sanctuary dedicated to preserving stories, memories, traditions, and the forgotten truths of the world. For over a thousand years, Balangaw has protected the threads of history from disappearing into oblivion. But when an impossible act of erasure strikes the Institute, ancient fears begin to awaken. Stories vanish from the Library of Whispered Pages. Names disappear from memory. And whispers spread of the Silencers, a mysterious faction determined to erase the past itself. Amid the growing uncertainty, a group of students finds themselves drawn into a centuries-old mystery connected to the Institute's founder, Apo Balangaw, the legendary First Story, and a forgotten power lurking within the hidden spaces between memory and oblivion. As the boundaries between remembrance and forgetting begin to unravel, they must uncover the truth before Balangaw itself becomes just another lost story. In a world where memory is magic, forgetting can be the greatest danger of all.

Story Summary Everything in Lira's small town was calm and predictable - until the day Kael arrived. He stood out immediately: tall, handsome, with features so different from everyone else, and those unusual brown eyes that made neighbors whisper that he must be from abroad or from a wealthy family far away. He enrolled in the same high school as Lira, but he never joined groups, never spoke much, and always seemed to be watching everything from a distance. Lira was curious about him, and one afternoon, when she found him sitting alone by the old riverbank, she gathered the courage to speak to him. That simple meeting started a quiet, beautiful friendship that quickly turned into something deeper. Kael had never felt so understood, so safe - Lira didn't care where he came from or how different he looked; she only saw the kind, lonely boy inside. For the first time, Kael allowed himself to forget the danger that followed him. He fell deeply in love with her, and she with him - a sweet, pure teenage romance full of secret walks, shared smiles, and quiet moments under the sun. But the truth could not stay hidden forever. Kael belongs to the oldest vampire bloodline in Europe - the only ones gifted by ancient magic to walk in daylight. Every other vampire in the world fears the sun, and for generations, they have hunted his family to steal their power. Now, they have tracked him to this small town. They want his blood, because drinking it will make them invincible - able to move anytime, anywhere, with no weakness, no fear of light. When Lira finally learns the truth - that the boy she loves is not just mysterious, but carries a secret that could get both of them killed - she is scared... but she does not turn away. She realizes that their love is not just a sweet teenage romance; it is a battle. Kael is not just hiding from enemies; he is protecting the last of his kind, and protecting *her* from the darkness that hunts him.

Synopsis: In a hidden realm where the mortal world brushes against the divine, the Academy of the Anitos stands as the bastion where the bloodlines of ancient Philippine gods and goddesses converge. Here, demi-gods and spirits train to master their otherworldly powers and safeguard the balance between worlds. Solren, a seemingly ordinary boy, discovers he is the son of Apolakios, the formidable Solar War God - a lineage that marks him as a key player in an age-old prophecy. Torn between the mortal life he knew and the divine destiny thrust upon him, Solren is thrust into the academy's crucible, where rivalries burn as fiercely as the sun and friendships are tested by shadows lurking in the corners. Alongside allies like Seraya, the gentle yet fierce daughter of Lakathis, goddess of harvest and earth, and Thalios, the enigmatic scion of Bathalor, the supreme celestial deity, Solren must unlock the depths of his power. But ancient darkness, long thought vanquished, stirs once more - threatening to shatter the fragile peace and plunge both realms into chaos. As alliances form and betrayals unfold, Solren must rise beyond his fears, embracing his fiery heritage to challenge fate itself. In the Academy of the Anitos, legends are born - and destinies forged in the flames of gods.

I always had these made-up characters in my head for the longest time. I can't remember all of them, but they are buried deep in my thoughts. At some times in a day, faces, and details of the characters I imagined would pop in my head, only for them to vanish again in the next few minutes. There were a lot of them, some I named after songs, some I named after my favorite Apex Legend, some of them are named after poems that I have read...some have blue eyes.. some have red hair.. some can pull big-ass swords out of their sweater holes.. and some can turn invisible but only when someone's not looking (trust me, I come up with such random characters with silly powers) Now, I'm writing this short novel, hoping that I could give justice to these characters. To give them life.. to give them a voice.. a passion.. a lover.. and a reason for being created. I don't want them caged in my head. I always took inspiration from Quentin Tarantino's works, and I am hoping to navigate in the same direction as him, though I am in a completely different vessel, far smaller than his. But it's always good to start with something. If you guys have read The Copper Gauntlet and The Magician, you can tell that I took inspiration from those two books as well. I always fancied teenage people having magical powers in a modern setting (like David Stutler in the Sorcerer's Apprentice film back in 2010). Now, I take you to the story of Aloy, a normal teenage boy, who finds himself snared between factions with roots in Philippine folkore.. This story is still a work in progress, and it's not perfect. And yes, the cover image needs some re-work, I bought it online, from one of those Facebook groups for writers.. I'm hoping to get a digital artist soon and to use this platform as a way to eventually publish this book. Again, what you're reading now, and what you're about to read next isn't perfect. But I hope you'll still enjoy it nevertheless.

Four friends who created a band called Alab drifted apart after a devastating fall out just before they finished highschool. Ten years later, circumstances brought them back together as adults, giving them the opportunity to rekindle old relationships and tie up loose ends. This story revolves around the town of Morganfield, which replaced what used to be the sacred mountain of Makiling. Made into a US military base in 1990, it was named after General Charles Morgan when the Philippines became an unincorporated and organized US territory across the Pacific Ocean. This will also explore the nearly forgotten history of precolonnial Philippine mythology and folklore, and a brave take on the Philippine pantheon, but in a more modernized setting. As this is a work in progress, expect some changes along the way (like this temporary cover photo) But for now, let's see how this one goes. Please let me know what you think! I'd like this writing experience to be as interactive as possible. Thank you!
