This is a side novel to Eri's story. Taking place several months before Eri's arrival on Elrich. Here in Rille's world, we see the starting point of Elrich's descent into chaos. Her mother, the luckiest person Rille knows, won tickets to the all-expense paid trip to The Island. Free health care spa and a daily allowance to be used in The Island Casino. Not everything is as it seems. Half of The Island is a research base but what are they researching and how will this change Rille's life and Elrich forever?

The Enterprise has been sent to investigate the cause of a deadly blight that had set on a once lively world, Katsina. This blight turns the innocent living into parasitic, ravenous, mutations that seek out the uninfected to spread the blight and that is how this planet's residents are falling victim. The landing party has their work cut out for them when a couple of them go missing and they are all stuck there as the strange energy radiating from the planet interferes with communication and makes it impossible for the landing parties to keep in touch with the ship. (There are a little hints that this fic was inspired by one of my favorite movies that Karl Urban played in but this will remain as a story interpreting the original ST characters)

Fishers there would catch the fish and when they did, the pufferfish would release TTX or Tetrodotoxin in a way to warn the other fish. This happened so many times that the remnants of the poison remained in the air, and spread all throughout Norway, then every other country. Since no gas masks or plague doctor masks were available, Tord, the army leader and world conqueror (also known as the Red Leader), came up with an idea to use full face masquerade masks. The mask's nose and mouth would have small air purifiers, just like a gas mask. And the eye holes would be covered with a material that blocked anything from getting into the mask. That way, they wouldn't have to worry about TTX infection in the eyes. These masks were available world wide .. well, I say that. Their supply of masks to England was cut off. Lost. Forever. There wasn't another supply boat they could send. So in a last attempt to keep everyone safe, they took in as many people as they could. Including the leader's old friends; Matt, Edd, and most importantly, Tom. He never had the opportunity to grow up normal for his mother was tricked into giving herself away to the human market and Fenrir was left to grow up in the harsh care of a man who treated him as a dog. Fenrir who was finally free made an attempt to start his life again, but the world has turned a blind eye to him as they continue on in their selfish ways of destroying eachother. Fenrir tries everything to move forward but he too must fight the urges to fall into the earth's wicked ways.

The Sickness nearly wiped the Earth clean. It spread fast, and couldn't be contained by the FDA or the government. It took hundreds, including Theresa's family, and those healthy were sent to stations spread out around the world. With her prestigious and natural skills, Theresa Dawning is taken away from what she has left. She's sent to be trained by Grayson Williams, a man recognized for his equal strength and intelligence.
