But when you're hungry and desperate, you have no choice. I don't remember much about my childhood. All I remember are the beatings, the grim tent, and the gnawing hunger. I remember the warm bright yellow of my father's eyes and the lovely pink of my mother's eyes that I could always find comfort in. But as for that night, I don't remember anything. Being taken from my family was the worst thing that ever happened to me. Not knowing if they were still alive and looking for us or if they don't care about us being taken haunts me everyday.
