The Voice in My Head
-
The slow hum of the AC filled the room, accompanied by the sweet chirping of birds and the earliest streaks of light seeping through my window.
"Aadil, are you still there?" I asked, my eyes fixed on the ceiling, where tiny glowing stars covered the darkness.
There was a brief pause before the voice answered.
"I'm always here, little one. I'll never leave you. Not until I take you with me."
My breath hitched. "Take me with you?"
"Yes, little one." His voice softened. "I'll take you with me, and we'll live happily together, just like we were meant to."

Hey guys! So, I honestly don't know much about schizophrenia, psychosis, or psychological disorders, so please bear with me. I'm learning as I go, and I'll be doing my best to portray everything respectfully and as accurately as possible. If anything feels odd or unrealistic, please keep in mind that this is a work of fiction.
Aadil is a toxic imaginary presence. Or perhaps something more, that the MC can't seem to escape.
This story came straight from my heart, and it took me a lot of time to come up with this idea. Please do not recreate, copy, repost, or use any part of my work without permission. This book is protected by copyright, and if I find my work anywhere else...
Well.
**Aadil and I will come find you.** :)
