Instead of becoming a victim, the character moves from a state of victimization to empowerment by using journaling to declutter her mind and regain control. By capturing overwhelming drama on the page, the character prevents the negative thoughts from continuously circling, transforming a 'broken mind' into a proactive, 'cleared' state of being

I had a dream Where I saw two trees One was filled with yellow treats And the other with red Red was a sign of love yet danger and mystery I choose to taste the one with the brightest shade They gave off a feeling of warmth But the taste was opposite to my suspense It was time to taste the red berries And I hesitate Would it taste the same as lemon Or who knows, maybe even worse If pleasant-looking lemon tastes so sour How weird would these crimson red berries taste?
