In a world filled with desperate people, portals to horrifying worlds-- colloquially called Stratas, demons, a vast power system, and figures lurking in the shadows- Liv will be forced to acclimate and grapple with this new, foreign way of life while trying to ascend the in latter that is the brutal Initiative. EXPECT: A lot of Combat A protagonist exploring an unfamiliar world Shonen meets Modern Dystopia. A strange, in depth power system that will be exploited. High stake fights against human and monsters. Long(ish) chapters. Most chapters range from 2000-3000 words; though, I try to go back and edit where I can. I had lived a normal and dull life that was only ever entertained by the presence of fictional characters. For some reason, I had woken up in a world that was not my own. If you were given a chance to meet your favorite characters, obviously would you take it right? But what if said characters were placed in a post-apocalyptic story? Would you still take it then? (Alternatively, guy wakes up in his favorite novel. That's great. But he gets put in the same train where everyone would die from the protagonist. That's not great.)

In 1983, a Soviet submarine falsely believed that Word War Three had begun, and fired a nuclear weapon towards the United States of America. Immediately sensing the weapon, the USA sent a barrage towards the USSR and its allies. The Soviet Union, sensing the American weapons, did the same. Within hours, 75% of the Earth's population had died, huge swathes of people following in the next few months. All of the Northern Hemisphere- minus a few remote areas and South America- was surely dead, their representatives included. Revolutions rose among surviving countries, areas such as Africa falling into chaos and bloodshed without a second thought. Oceania and South America were the only areas that survived with limited damage done. The people, however, were hysterical, roughly 180 countries having fallen in the blink of an eye. Fueled by paranoia, thousands of people who were- despite what they believed- barely in any form of danger fled to Antarctica, forming a new country: the Antarctic Union. When the first arrived, countless people died, not at all prepared for the harsh climate they faced. Humans are resilient, though, and a small pocket managed to survive the harsh cold. For two hundred years, nearly all of their essential supplies were from overseas, taken out by loans they hoped to be able to repay in the future. Finally, though, the Earth's temperature rose enough so that the Antarctic country could sustain plant growth and, well, life. Satisfied with the fact that her people can live, Maria Petronova- representative of the Antarctic Union- turns her eyes far north, to the barren nuclear wastelands of the old world. And she's not completely convinced that they all died. Stonegate's fair city was built on the ruins of a town of one of the ancients. It was not called Stonegate, then, for in those days there was no need for stone walls or for gates. I've heard it said, though I can scarcely believe it, that in those days people walked to and fro unhindered. The old name had something to do with a Fort, though we can't figure out why, since there didn't seem to be a fort here but there was a building called "a university," a guild of learning of some sort. Well, sadly that time is long gone, and Stonegate's walls have long kept decent people in and the riffraff out. People here have gotten comfortable, for we've long felt safe and secure. That is, until now...
