Studying journalism at uni we were always encouraged to watch and read the news everyday but I found this very hard, a lot of it was so depressing-such as the tragic #prayforparis attacks- although you wanted to be aware of what was going on in the world you also wanted to shut it all out and be oblivious. So I wrote this with the mentality of just as we have the freedom of speech to promote our opinions and make people aware of the awful things happening in the world- we also have the chance to report the amazing, uplifting and inspiring things that happen everyday too.

So many of you know recently, depending on when you're reading this, France and a few other countries were attacked. It's just a oneshot thing to show my support. The recent Paris attacks last month, has sparked backlash against the Muslim community. Society has painted this picture that the Muslimsame themselves are radical, yet we as a whole don't try to hear and understand the point of view of those who are not associated with this type of terrorism. This poem is inspired by three fictional stories that could relate to any person in the Muslim community.

I'm starting this in November - so it starts with the French flag filter on Facebook. If any of you know any other trend, please let me know in the comments/messages. Also, if possible, let me know where you're at - that way, I can keep track of where this trend is going on. I want to keep a record of the "fashion" going on - because somethings get the spot-light and some just don't. Sadly, even the fraction of incidents that do get the spotlight are forgotten when something new starts. How many of you remember Amanda Todd? So, please, help keep this list around. That way, we can remember and go back to a "trend" and make sure that the "movement" was around for a reason. Movements may be: 1. On social networking sites 2. A change in profile picture (filters, charts, the text for an image), statuses, comments and so on that you see a sudden, rampant change in. 3. Not limited to any country 4. Not limited to any language (though, Mandarin, Korean etc might give me issues with translation - so, please help me there. If you can't that's fine - but I'd appreciate being informed about it.) Inspired by the Paris bombs

I am currently going through a phase of poetry so thought I might as well publish them and see about getting some feedback so I can find out whether or not they are any good. hope you like them.

Alex and Katrina are star crossed lovers who fell in love at summer camp. They loved each other as much as they could in the number of days that they have. Missing Alex was hard, and realizing he lives in Paris and you live in Minnesota is way even harder.

The Avengers assemble... for an early Thanksgiving dinner, and they all have to cook themselves! But a somber turn of events takes the group to Paris, where saving the day might be too late.

I'm sure most of you know about the recent acts of terrorism that took place in Paris on Friday, November 13. I ask that everyone prays for those in the world dealing with the causes of these events.

Everyone stops running and screaming they still heard gun shots and some helicopters. "Cmon hurry!" A mand said to he's wife. They run but then on of the terrorists killed both of them. They all wish that's Paris didn't have to pass by this.
