This is a very personal story, written on an encounter of domestic violence within relationships. It's about the over coming of abuse and how we are worth so much more in life. No one deserves bad treatment, love should never contradict itself with hatred. I couldn't be more proud of where I am today despite my past situation. My story is far from the worst, but I hope this gives those the courage to speak out if they're suffering. I know I always wanted someone to talk to while I was experiencing this isolation. I am the Muslim Girl. The one everyone stares at. They ask me, "What is that thing on your head?" Or, "Do you have to wear that?" I don't answer. I just keep walking. Being Muslim isn't about the hijab that girls wear. It's about being one with god. It's about peace, and respect. It's about being pious. It's about having empathy. High school, however, does not know that.
