Four fourth-year music students at UCLA decide to audition for the Sing-Off. However, they decide that they should have a tenor or a similar male with a high voice. What happens when the perfect fit for the last member of the group is fifteen-year-old Mitch Grassi, still in high school, and what happens when his family doesn't want him joining the group?

"Is she breathing?" a male voice asked. It didn't sound familiar at all, so it was probably a police officer or medic. Then again, nothing sounded familiar right now. I could hear screaming and crying all around me. I felt soaking wet and hot at the same time, which I didn't think was possible and I could feel someone gently shaking me. "Uggggnnnnnmmm," I groaned. "She's alive! Come on kid, wake up," another man exclaimed. "Nooooooooooo," I groaned again. I felt so tired, I just wanted to go back to sleep, but whoever was shaking me wouldn't stop. My eyes slowly opened, squinting at the bright lights that were shining all around me. Two men were hovering over me and they weren't who I thought they would be.
