Born on June 15, 1961, in Lalapur, Prayagraj, Rajesh Pandey is an exemplary officer who has had an illustrious career in law enforcement. He holds an M.Sc. in Botany from Allahabad University and was awarded Junior and Senior Research Fellowships (JRF & SRF) by UGC before transitioning into the civil services. He joined the UP Provincial Police Service in 1986 and was later promoted to the IPS cadre in 2003. With an impeccable track record, he retired as an IPS officer on June 30, 2021.
During his career, he held key positions such as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Lucknow, Meerut, and Aligarh, DIG of Bareilly Range, IG Range, and IG Election at the DGP Headquarters. He played a vital role in the founding of the UP STF and ATS, serving as SP ATS in 2016. His international exposure includes serving in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force (Kosovo, 2008-09) and undergoing training at the Royal Institute of Public Administration, London (2010).
