Set against the rugged, blood-soaked canyons of the New Mexico desert during the Navajo War, a young Army soldier named Ellis embarks on a brutal journey of survival, coming of age in a war-torn Southwest. Through intense pain, grueling skirmishes, and deep personal struggle, Ellis unexpectedly finds love in the dust-only to end up on the run for his life. Framed as a gritty frontier adventure, this high-stakes tale of cowboys and Indians is vividly brought to life through the imaginative narration of his own fifteen-year-old son, who turns his father's harsh memories into a legendary battle for hope and humanity.

After a baby is born, parents are given three years to go to the "Social Security Services" They are implanted a chip that determines their social status based on the parents' IQ test and yearly income. The government kills those who have disabilities, and sends children who have been marked as 'poor' to a five year program after they turn 12-years old. The program is hosted each Saturday and summer in an attempt to give everyone an equal opportunity to life. If the students fail the IQ test then they are lobotomized to serve the country in the army or clean the environment. Those who scored extremely low are killed in domes. In reality, the system is not a fair opportunity. Margarita, a final year student attending the Social Security School knows that the corrupted rich are becoming more and more desperate for the resources everyone is running low on due to the severe climate change crisis. She fears that she will be one of the couple thousands that unfairly fall short in the system. Similarly, like her friend's sister who was killed to keep a scandal quiet. Every day, Margarita faces a war between the rich and poor. The whites and the minorities. Falling in love with a white person is like finding a loophole in the system, and she can't tell the difference between what's real anymore.

Birdie Taylor was your typical Southern girl. She was born and raised in the small town of Fargo, Mississippi. Her family is rich and white, just like most families in Fargo. Birdie's long legs and blonde hair brought many blessings for her, but she had no idea what she was in for. Being from the south, she was used to different races. She was liberal, but her family were still conservative, racist people. It was so close to Mexico that many immigrants wound up there. She didn't know many of them, as they often lived on the outside of town. But when she met one of them, it would change her world.

She wanted a life that escaped Jim Crow and its laws. Life in Overtown, originally called Colored Town during the Jim Crow era, was nothing but oppression and depression. A time when civil rights became the overwhelming domestic issue of 1963. One night, Wyetta went to the Harlem Square club in downtown Miami, a small nightspot that harbored singers from across the world. There she met industry mogul, Jaydex Theodore, who accompanied Sam Cooke that would perform that night. Jaydex was known among those in the music industry to secure links and deals for black musicians, that were blocked by racist men in power. What Wyetta Lee thought would be a fun night would soon be her true life story. #1-Retro #1-Miami This book is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places, events, and incidents are strictly from the author's imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is entirely fictional.
