"I used to love you and now I hate you, it's sad that you made me hate me too." I reply, not breaking eye contact. He doesn't reply. "Goodnight Matthew." As I'm turning around, he puts his hand on my shoulder to stop me.
"There is also a thin line between good and bad. And at that moment in time that made you hate me so much was when I desperately needed to be hated and bad in your eyes." He sighs. "I just didn't mean for it to be you that was also hated."
I look up to him waiting for an elaboration but there isn't one.
"Goodnight Atlanta." He says with a polite nod before putting on his hood and disappearing into the nightly crowds of the city.
Atlanta and Matthew were best friends ever since middle school. But after one party everything changes. Matthew moves away and Atlanta is left to try to pick up the pieces of her life after he leaves.
Five years later they meet again except Matthew is a well known singer and Atlanta is not the same girl that she used to be.
Matthew is the one who found himself and Atlanta is the one who lost herself. Atlanta needs Matthew more than anything right now. But will she realize? Will he actually stay?
