⚠️⚠️MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK ⚠️⚠️ as the title suggests, this is an alternate ending to the movie The Rise of Skywalker. i absolutely hated the way JJ ended this movie, so i thought i'd write it the way that i wanted it to end. loosely inspired by some other fanfictions i've read on this topic. also, criticism is definitely open, i'm new to this and can use all the feedback i can get. enjoy, and may the Force be with you :)

Instead of destroying Luke's Jedi Temple, Ben Solo chooses to run away under the alias Kylo Ren. He can't trust his family and he fears the Dark Side too much to turn to Snoke. He runs as far as he can until The Force leads him to Jakku. There he meets a tough hopeful scavenger named Rey. Trusting The Force, he and Rey strike up a friendship and learn from each other. They have a nice routine as a scoundrel and a scavenger until a BB Unit rolls into their lives. Set years before and during The Force Awakens.

Rey never knew her parents. She grew up in the Nima orphanage with her best friends, Finn and Rose. Rey had always loved to read, books were her escape. In books girls like her, orphans from nowhere always had amazing adventures, and discovered that their parents were really heroes or royalty. She loved all books, but her favorite was a new series that came out: The Starlight Chronicles. It was a science fiction - fantasy series that told of adventures in a far away galaxy. Rey quickly became the self proclaimed number one fan of the series, she wrote fan fictions on wattpad, made fan art, she had even written letters to the author. They became pen pales, best friends and she wants to meet him more than anything.

Rey Kenobi is a 19 year old girl who has been charged with murder, the murder of Leia Organa, Han Solo, and their son Kylo Ren. She wakes up the next morning in a cell except she's not alone, Rey's being haunted by Kylo's ghost. Now the two must work together to unravel the evidence and get the real villian behind bars. This is an alternate ending for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. I'm sure there are a million other endings created like this one but I thought I'd share mine anyways. Since this is an imagined ending not canon there are technically no spoilers but **SPOILER ALERT** (I mean it. Don't read this if you haven't seen TROS) this story focuses on how I imagined the story to end had Ben Solo lived. This is the ending I'm pretending really happened more or less. this is how i would want the movie to go! no, it's not perfect, but i will try to update as much as i can!! yes this is a reylo story, so i will focus more on kylo and rey's part more than the other characters.

After Starkiller Base is destroyed, Rey goes out in search of Luke and trains to become a part of the next generation of Jedi. However, Kylo Ren understands if she accomplishes her quest, then everything he has worked for is diminished. He sets out to find his previous teacher and to stop the Jedi from returning, but finds something much different from what he imagined.

Rey would like to think she had everything under control. But she soon realizes she doesn't when she gets drunk one night and has a one night stand with the person she hates most. Dedicated to @reylofan

Although The Rise of Skywalker has brilliant moments, it has never sat right with me. In this rewrite I am using elements from TROS such as locations and specific events but redirecting the entire plot and characters. This fic will be Reylo heavy with them together for the majority of the story. I want to keep this story as realistic to the star wars cannon as possible so there will be tons of romance/tension but no smut. When compulsive gambler Sir Benjamin Kenobi has lost his estate and all of his money playing dice, he realizes that he only has one thing left of value: his daughter Rey. In a final game, he stakes his daughter's hand in marriage, convinced that this time he will not lose. Unfortunately, however, he does lose; to the evil Lord Snoke. Unable to return home and tell his daughter that he has lost her in a game of dice, he kills himself there and then. Lord Ben Solo, who has witnessed the events, takes pity on Rey Kenobi, although they have never met. He challenges Lord Snoke to a game of dice in which the winner takes Jakku and Miss Rey. Lord Ben Solo wins and is simply pleased that he has saved someone from the nasty Snoke, he thinks no more about the event. One evening, however, Ben's friend Lord Armitage Hux insists upon them going to Jakku to take a look at his "prize".
