[SPONSORED BY TELUS] Eva Shaw's junior year falls apart when she sees a website dedicated to making fun of Cathy, a reclusive student, and does nothing about it. Eva watches the posts pop up every night and doesn't speak a word. But when she accidentally gets closer to Cathy, it slowly gets tougher to keep quiet about the bullying she witnesses each day. Cathy seems to be pulling further away from everyone and has no desire to bring a teacher into her mess and make things complicated. But Eva is finding it harder to keep quiet with all the guilt building up around her and when she finds out the creator of the website is much closer to her than she thought, doing the right thing seems almost impossible. With her 'friends' telling her to keep quiet, Cathy falling away and her own guilt pulling at her, Eva has to decide if speaking out is really worth it or if she should just listen to everyone and stay a simple bystander.

This poem dives deep into the pain of betrayal and the scars left behind by harsh words. It explores the struggle to heal from emotional wounds while finding strength to rise and keep moving forward at your own pace. A raw and honest reflection on resilience, self-empowerment, and the fight to reclaim your voice.

This is my first entry for the #RiseAbove contest by Telus. This story has behind it the idea of showing what cyberbullying can do to a person. Also trigger warning, you have been warned

Ah, the joy of the internet, where you can remain anonymous and still do stuff you love, no one ever knowing it was you. Well, there's some downsides to that I guess. #RiseAbove I, sadly, cannot enter the contest as I'm not a citizen of Canada. But I've had this idea for a while actually and I can still support it. So...here.

Bullying is uncalled for and can lead to deathly situations. Help stop bulling and learn what can happen if bullying goes to far. This is going to go to Wattys2018 not just for fame but to make people know more about what can happen. It can make you do things you never knew you could do.

A story of a girl who struggled to rise above cyber bullying. Young Rachel has been a victim of CyberBullying for years, now she has gained the confidence to step up and spread positivity.

[SPONSORED BY TELUS] For Winona Prescott, senior year was supposed to be simple; get good grades, graduate and have a bit of fun on the side. But when a video of her kissing another girl goes viral throughout the entire school overnight, everything takes a turn for the worse. Friends she once trusted turn on her, peers shut her out and her only comfort is from a friendship she once thought was lost. Winona just wants everyone to forget the video ever existed. But then the messages start to appear. Repeatedly, Winona's phone is filled with hate messages from an unknown account. She tries to delete them, they come back. She tries to ignore them, the paranoia sets in. Soon there are groups and pages, all spewing hate directed right at her and Winona is crumbling under the pressure. From the relationship with her dad, to the cold shoulder from everyone at school and the faceless person targeting her, Winona doesn't know what to do. Because the scariest opponent is the one you can't see.
