Her Father is a doctor and qualified surgeon with a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Her older brother Steven was 19 years old, hadn't moved out of home yet while there parents nagged him to "Get a haircut, get a real job and move out" he wanted to be someone but to there parents that was never good enough, be "Simple and plain like everyone else they all live happy lives after they settle down" Yeah, that was just another way of saying we're all the same so don't be different. Victoria was her younger sister, 15 years old, had short shoulder length brown hair and was the exact spitting image of her Mum and had inherited the same attitude too. Są trzy rzeczy, które Mel musi koniecznie osiągnąć w życiu: zostać legendą rocka, spopielić wszystkie sceny w Ameryce i wgnieść Kane'a Heartona w ziemię. Nie ma miejsca na sentymenty, gdy twój idol łamie serce twojej najlepszej przyjaciółki. Mel wie o tym doskonale. Może i podziwiała Kane'a przez całe życie, lecz nie zawahała się, by podbić rankingi piosenką o tym, jaki z niego śmieć, gdy tylko zdradził basistkę jej zespołu. Trochę gitary elektrycznej, perkusji i parę lirycznych przekleństw - a wizerunek słynnego rockmana zostaje poważnie nadszarpnięty. Nic więc dziwnego, że Mel i Kane skaczą sobie do gardeł. Wszystkie media Ameryki wiedzą, by nie umieszczać ich razem w jednym pokoju; chyba że z pokoju mają zostać gruzy. Tym gorzej, że snuje się za nimi widmo podpisanego nie w porę kontraktu, na mocy którego mają nagrać piosenkę do filmu... w duecie. Przecież to będzie katastrofa. Mel z pewnością nie spocznie, nim nie zrujnuje kariery Kane'a. A Kane nie odpuści, nim nie udowodni, że ta ruda, postrzelona rockmanka myli się co do niego bardziej, niż jej się wydaje. Choćby mieli po drodze spalić się wzajemnie żywcem. No cóż. Niech żyje rock & roll.
