High school is supposed to be filled with love, happiness, laugh and all that cheery goodness, right? Sophie Moore didn't argue with it, though she never really experienced most of that. She sort of just went through high school, a typical day being waking up in the morning, getting dressed, going to the building, smiling or saying high to a few people, grab her things from her locker, walk into first period, sit in her seat in the far right back corner...
And watch him.
She didn't know why her attention always turned to Jordin Davis, he wasn't really all that amusing. But yet everyday instead of focusing more on the teacher, her eyes will slowly turn to the sort of quiet boy in the far left seat in the row in front of her.
It wasn't that she had feelings for him, that she established. She was just sort of, worried about him she guessed. Because everyday he came into her class, he'd quietly sit down with the same expressionless face, staring out of the window and the only words that would come out of his mouth were the ones caused by the only two people he spoke to, Katie Harris and Michael Miller.
She knew most of the signs, because even she knew what it was like to be sad. And the one day she finally decided she was going to have a full on conversation with him, he disappeared.
Fast forward to five years, Sophie is now 21 and a aspiring well-respected nurse. Things were looking up for her until one day a new patient arrived at the hospital, the name bringing back all the unknown feelings she had in high school.
Jordin Davis. After 5 long years, he was there, on her patient bed. And even though she wanted to just turn around and call another nurse to take care of him, one factor was holding her back.
He was blind, she couldn't care less.
