Ruth lived in the middle of the woods in Maine most of her life with her sister and father.
They were known as the modern outlaws, the people who lived in a cabin out by a river. The family that hunted for food.
Her mother had died when she was only a young girl, leaving her to take care of her younger sister with her father, who had sent out to town for a job.
Once her father is taken, after years of stealing food and goods, Ruth is left with her younger sister, to live on their own in the woods.
When they find Ruth and Elizabeth, what will happen?
Will they take them away? Will they separate the two sisters?
The last word Ruth's mother tried telling her still echoed through her head. "Immort-." And then she collapsed.
What was Ruth's mother trying to tell her? Was Ruth immortal?
Was Ruth not who she thought she was this whole time?
