Deborah sought freedom through music; Markus sought to possess her because of it. A young violin prodigy was abandoned and trapped within the confines of a popular brothel named The Flower's Garden. With a burst of courage, she and two others planned their escape. Yet their defiance was met with death and blood. But Daniel Wellinger, a respected apothecary, found one of the girls alive and took her home. He nursed her back to health and gave her a new life, a new name - Deborah. Despite the racial prejudices in the country of Briersberg, Deborah grew like a flower under Daniel's protective care. Her new goal is to be a professional musician, but she must fight to achieve this in a world that is set against her. Her music tickled the ears of Duke Markus Beaufort, a sickly noble haunted by inner demons. Her songs soothed his mind and brought color to his otherwise dull existence. Yet, what began as fascination soon morphed into a dark obsession. During an outing, Deborah captures the attention of Jonah Watson, the son of a wealthy doctor. He shows her a tender love of which she had never experienced. But will she accept this love or would the abuse she suffered make her push him away? And will their budding connection survive in a society bound by class and prejudice? From the shadows, Markus watches, unwilling to let her go. Deborah had once saved his life, and now, in his mind, she belonged to him. He has one goal: "I must destroy her if I'm to have her." Torn between a man who'd do anything for her and a man who'd do anything to get her, Deborah must fight for the career, freedom, and love she truly deserves. But after surviving the darkness once before, can she face it again without losing herself?

My heart beat so fast, and I could feel the ice-cold wind against my skin, coming from the open window of my old room. The sound from the TV was loud, but it felt like my ears were shutting every noise down on purpose. I could only feel my loud, painfully beating heart. This is the first time I've tried doing something so... unforgivable. But I can't. I can't, I can't, I can't! My head shook with panic, fear, and coldness. I gripped the razor tighter, my fingers wrapped around it. I shut my eyes and spoke to whoever might be listening. Someone, can you hear me? You've seen me. You know what's happening-you know me. You called me by name once. "It will be painful when you start, but it will fade away soon. Trust it, trust me... just do it!" I could feel my pulse rising and the cold sweat forming on my forehead and temple. I moved my head closer to my wrist as tears streamed down my face. Sabi nila, kapag mamamatay ka na, parang nagfa-flash ng mabilis sa 'yo ang naging buhay mo-everything at once, mabilis-just for a few seconds before the tragedy hits you. My eyes were closed, and it felt like my ears had shut to avoid any noise. With sweaty palms and forehead, with an aching heart and a tired soul, I saw your face. With trembling lips, I smiled. Hanggang sa huling pagkakataon, ikaw talaga ang makikita ko? "Maybe in another universe, Scal." I moved my hand closer to my wrist. I waited until I felt the coldness of the small metal in my hand, when a strong wind hit my skin. All of a sudden, there was an unfamiliar caress in my heart. My ears opened, my eyes slowly opened, and his sweet, warm voice was so clear through my blurry vision that it made me forget about the small, dangerous metal in my hand. I focused on his voice, and my breath hitched. "Hi, everyone. We are Velvet Upholstery!"

Princess Shaina knows that she is cursed. If she falls in love before she's sixteen, she'll fall into an everlasting sleep that will last until her body decays -- because curses always come exactly true. Because of this, Shaina is never allowed near any boys, and they are taught to keep their respectful distance. That is, until a peasant boy begins seeing her, and her parents find out. When her parents lock her up away from the boy, Shaina decides to leave home, and books passage on the only ship leaving Ancare. It is a month after sailing that she finds out the roguish captain and interesting crew are not merchants at all, but corsairs who plan to sell her for gold in a slave-trading land. Shaina is surprised when she finds out when the captain and a few of the mates are Catholic, when they live such a life. Confused that these physically violent men are tame-minded, she begins to look into what it is they believe - and gets to know their captain because of it. Though he has cocky wisdom, performs stupendous feats, and has an unbeatable humor, Shaina finds herself growing to care for him as time passes. Though terrified she will fall asleep because of love, Shaina can't shake the feeling that this is something different, something that is worth risking her life for. All of that disappears when she reaches Balfizzar, and the Great Pirate Robber sells her into the King of Zulle's harem. With no wedding ceremony, she still isn't allowed to leave, but Shaina's spirits rally. Hiding the truth that she's a princess, Shaina attempts to escape many times. But she finds out there is more than just the curse standing between her and freedom. This curse has done more than make her scared of the future, but also of every day in between. But though she may fight it, love may still find her, and True Love... Is inescapable. :)

Two years ago, Aira Mehta walked away from Mumbai's endless noise, exhausting corporate routine, and the version of success everyone expected her to chase. She found herself in the quiet mountains of Himachal Pradesh, where life moved more slowly and mornings arrived wrapped in fog. There, she built a small café filled with warm coffee, handwritten poetry, soft music, and the kind of comfort that makes strangers feel at home the moment they step inside. For the first time in years, Aira felt at peace. She believed she had finally found the life she truly wanted. Then Kabir Sethi arrives. Ambitious, sharp, and far too restless for a place that survives on silence and stillness, Kabir comes with plans that could change everything Aira has built. Saying no to him should have been simple. But the harder part is making him understand why this little café means so much to her. As days turn into weeks, the distance between them slowly begins to fade. Through snowfall evenings, local festivals, quiet late-night conversations, acoustic music sessions, and long walks through the hills, Aira and Kabir begin to see parts of themselves they had buried for years. In the stillness of the mountains, both are forced to confront the exhaustion, loneliness, and unanswered questions they carried from their old lives. Told through Aira's perspective, *The Café Above the Clouds* is a heartfelt slow-burn contemporary romance about healing, belonging, second chances, and discovering that sometimes the life we leave behind was never truly meant for us in the first place.

Then her mother gets into an accident, and Ricella has nowhere to go. Gabriel comes through for her, but he brings up something she has always loathed. That marriage. It would be an escape for both of them from what they suffer, but Ricella fears it would be a cage, living with someone she could never love herself. But can Gabriel love her? Could it be that the fiercest kind of hatred, can mold the best kind of love? Ricella is so afraid it can't. -->>Tell me what you think of this story! Thanks for reading!<<---
