Ethel Stubbs is a 17-year-old girl from Salem, Massachusetts. In a small Puritan community, fingers are being pointed at people who could be suspected of being a witch. Her neighbor, Mrs. James, accuses her after reportedly seeing her walking to the woods one night. Mrs. James claims that Ethel Stubbs is committing witchcraft in those very forests near the community. Soon, everyone who is close to Ethel begins to turn on her. Will she survive? Will she perish due to the paranoia and shame of others? (The story is inspired by the Salem witch trials that took place in February 1692 and May 1693 in Salem, Massachusetts. I tried to be as accurate as possible, but this is still a work of historical fiction. I recently found out that I am the descendant of a woman who was persecuted at the Salem Witch Trials. Her name was Rebecca Nurse. This inspired me to do research and begin to write my story on this subject.) TW: Death, Hanging, Persecution, and Gore

A short story I wrote for an assignment that was inspired by something I saw on Tumblr, about how the way you die in your past life is what becomes your fear in the next one. I also incorporated a little romance and reference to the Salem Witch Trials. It's in second person and a little bit confusing, but read till the end because i think it's pretty good.
