It doesn't help that there's a griffin and baboon stalking them. Magnus Chase is tired of monsters and gods (one god in particular) going after him. Can't he just have a normal afterlife and be able to actually hang out with Alex Fierro without constant death threats? But, of course, when a new einherjar shows up at Valhalla and turns out to be an ice goddess, Magnus, Alex, Sam, Hearth, and Blitz are thrown into their hardest challenge yet. Sadie Kane is bored to death. She has nothing fun to do! Teaching isn't fun anymore. Neither is basketball. Sadie decides to leave the Twenty-first nome and go exploring, Carter following her reluctantly. Somehow the two siblings end up in Boston, where they run into a girl in a green hijab, a deaf elf, and a dwarf who's allergic to the sun. What if Carter and Sadie were then thrown into a series of mythical events, running into friends new and old as they try to stop some Loki guy from destroying all THREE races of gods... What will happen when our favorite characters meet? What would happen if Alex and Sadie blew up a strip mall together? What if Carter and Magnus got trapped in a dumpster? And what about Leo Valdez?
