Prince Charles Davenport is next in line to rule over the island of Saint Brendan. He comes off as arrogant and cold hearted, like his father King Philip, but is actually a kind and fair ruler. What happens when he wanders to the kitchen one night for a snack to find a maid hard at work while everyone sleeps? Will she be able to uncover his kind ways, or cower before she has the chance? Will he be able to save her from the abuse she faces?
Hope Abelman is a lonely maid who works in the palace. Although she isn't the head maid, she does more work than all of the maids combined. She covers for their mishaps, works late nights and early mornings, gives up her food portions to the weak, and gives her bed to the children. She lives in the poorest conditions and is abused by King Philip who blames her for all the mistakes in the palace. She was working on the pile of dishes in the sink, when the prince walks in! Will she learn to trust him, or let her fears take over? How will they explain to the King and Queen?

Hello everyone! My name is Hope. I'm 16 and a junior in high-school. This is my first book so I am extremely inexperienced. I'm sorry for all the mistakes! Once I finish the story I will go back and edit it. I have been wanting to write a book for a while now and had his idea in my mind for years. I have not read to have heard of any books similar to this one, if my ideas seem similar to another's it's purely coincidental, but please let me know. I have all rights to this story and the characters. Please don't copy my ideas, but I would love if they inspire you! I hope you enjoy The Prince and the Maid and if you have any suggestions please let me know! Enjoy!!!
