This is a short story that I have written for the contest Nation Geographic is hosting, Plastic or Planet. All the characters and events are a product of my imagination, none of this holds any resemblance to any real life incident but however, the story does convey the main message, the purpose of this contest which is how our irresponsibility and carelessness is the cause of death and extinction of marine life.

You and your grandchildren are at Huntington Beach, CA. As a former surfer, you feel waves of sadness to see what has become of our oceans. Plastic pollution is a nasty thing. Will you join the fight to save our oceans and prevent plastic pollution? Oceans ahead? Uh, yea, I sure hope there are.

Rachel is a curious and intelligent 11-year-old girl who loves to learn and read. She is ecstatic to learn that she is a witch and has been chosen to attend Le Rosey School for witches and wizards. There, she makes new friends who share her love of magic and learning. However, the group soon discovers that there are dangerous forces at work in the wizarding world. They stumble upon a secret room in the school's library that reveals a dark history about the school and its founders. The group realizes that they may be the only ones who can stop the sinister plot that threatens to tear apart the entire wizarding world. As they set out on their quest, Rachel and her friends face many challenges, including battles with dark wizards, dangerous magical creatures, and powerful curses. Throughout their journey, they learn more about themselves and each other as they work together to uncover the truth and save their world. Despite the obstacles in their way, Rachel and her friends rely on their knowledge, bravery, and friendship to overcome the dangers they face. They must confront the source of the evil that threatens the wizarding world and work together to defeat it before it's too late. Will they succeed in their quest to save the magical world, or will they fall victim to the powerful forces they face? The answer lies in their ability to work together and stay true to their values.

In this book, I'm just going to give my opinion on problems in our society today. I feel very passionately about this, And I know a lot of other people do too. This story is about how we are destroying the earth. Our only place to live. Animals are dying left and right, fires are spreading, and smoke is all over, in fact, in northeastern America you can see the smoke from Canada, and all you have to do to see it is look anywhere. We need to help what gives us life. Living is a privilege, and we have to earn it and keep it going. This story includes one cuss word in Part 3.
