Alli Candura's life is a literal nightmare. Her parents are divorced, her mom is an abusive drug addict, and her dad? He's the town psychopath/voodoo artist/unconvicted murderer. At least she has friends though. Well, that is if you call fake, creepy people who sit by the trash cans at lunch and probably sell drugs your friends. Alli's life has shattered time and time again right before her eyes. But will she be able to pick up the shards this time? Hayden Mae Jackson has seizures and has a difficult day at school after she blacked out. She, of course, has a service dog to allert her when she is about to have a seizure. Her dog is a white Golden Retriever named Phoniex. One day, when Phoenix isn't around, because she is at the vet, Hayden is about to have a seizure when Grayson the school, "bad boy," but has a soft place for certain people, sees that she is about to have a seizure and rushes to her before she seizes and he puts her head in his lap. Will a new relationship spark? What will her brother- Jasper- have to say about Grayson ?
