Nothing good ever happened to Kane Wicker. You could call his life a little...lackluster. Living on Earth, the only things he was good at was being a thief and attracting trouble. He lived and died by his code of staying out of the way and minding his own business but...something changed. There is a revolution brewing in Earth against the planet Proxima and only the poor are willing to stand up. Somehow, with Wick's luck, he's ended up right in the middle of it. He's landed in a situation he can't get out of and its either get involved with the revolution and betray his own, or die. (this story will be continued after April 28th, stay tuned)

Human beings are known for inventing things that they had never really needed. Or, to be more specific, that they believed they needed until they actually invented it, which was the exact moment when they saw they didn't. Sometimes, the new invention just keeps existing, and so do us. But there are these rare, particular occasions in which things go a little bit wrong and the invention just can't keep existing. And there are these rarer, even more particular occasions in which things go abnormally wrong and the invention keeps existing, but we run the risk of irremediably ceasing to exist. ~~~ My entry for the 19th challenge of the SciFriday Contest! Hope you like it :D

I don't understand humans sometimes. I always thought that those disaster movies were ridiculous; surely our entire race wouldn't panic about an issue that can be easily solved with a few clear heads? I was wrong. I am fatherless. Motherless. Merciless. Friendless. We don't get friends in our world anymore. All we have are the organisations. **2nd place award from Watt pad Contests by @SophieRuewen **

A sci-fi short story about a being who has obtained immortal life by siphoning the leftover life forces from dead beings. So many people live and die daily that there are plenty of dead bodies to fuel that sort of extended life style--until the day burial grounds are abolished to make room for a refugees from a solar system that met with the rather unfortunate fate of being obliterated.
