Nothing good ever happened to Kane Wicker. You could call his life a little...lackluster. Living on Earth, the only things he was good at was being a thief and attracting trouble. He lived and died by his code of staying out of the way and minding his own business but...something changed. There is a revolution brewing in Earth against the planet Proxima and only the poor are willing to stand up. Somehow, with Wick's luck, he's ended up right in the middle of it. He's landed in a situation he can't get out of and its either get involved with the revolution and betray his own, or die. (this story will be continued after April 28th, stay tuned)

Here's for the Challenge. Short story. A mermaid named Rose is living with her evil Aunt Cloe. Her Aunt tries to hook her up with these suitors but neither of them can manage to make her talk to them. Rose can't swim without her Aunt Cloe's pet swordfish named Tully. Rose then manages to do the bravest thing of all...escape and maybe fall in love with a human.

The Kalkores are savage, single-minded creatures created by a rather human-like Kalkore, their King. They live on the same planet with the Kazonians, but on two entirely different parts of the Earth-like planet, Xonar Kazong, due to their previous war where the two races became enemies. The Kazonians are more peace-loving than the Kalkores, but when a new race comes to wipe out the natives from their home planet, both Kazonians and Kalkores team up to destroy the newcomers once and for all.

Short sci fi piece for Competition 27

Life on a spacestation is monotonous to say the least. When you work 5 days a week for a pittance with less than half a chance to move up in the world, and the girl you like works in the red district... Jade Godwill is miserable but content. The one place he can let loose is the Old World History complex that, ironically, only androids seem to care about. When servant mech droids begin turning on their masters and killing, the answer lies in this place. And surprise, surprise only Jade can find it. This was written for Project Constellations, but I didn't finish it on time. My first ever proper story (let alone SCI-FI) that I promise will be updated...

On the borders of North and South Korea, a single shot was fired; a single shot discharged by shaking hands that would change the world forever. Those who survived to tell the tale, agree; that the beginnings of World War III were just like any other. However It devolved into a nasty conflict, ruled by alliances and espionage. First to join the fray was China, then the US, afterwards, it was a downhill spiral until almost every major power on the globe was locked in combat. That all changed when the first of many nuclear missiles were launched, slamming with full force and devastation into the Russian capital of Moscow. No one knew the country that had fired the fateful weapon, but as a result of its impact, everyone's worst fears had come true. A chain reaction had been started, which would inevitably end the world as we know it. Rising from the ashes like a burning Phoenix, was a new world. A world not ruled by the green vegetation so unique to our planet, but a world dominated by ice. Even so, the flame of human resilience was not snuffed out completely-there were still those who would live on stumbling blindly throughout the darkness, hoping to one day see the sunrise again. To witness a day when the critically injured earth would once more become Utopia.

With the Proximalympics underway, Nasani must master the proxathlon and its notorious four stages, eliminate the threat with extreme prejudice, and maybe win herself a Palladium Star medal.
