The small coastal village of Lakeview has always been a point of curiosity in Arcadia. The people were secluded and secretive. The only people who had left were never seen again. 15-year-old Jaylyn Wood has always been curious about the river. The legends told that the River - which surrounded the village - reached out and drowned any person who tried to escape. However, for fear of the river, she has never crossed outside of the village borders. - "I can't believe you." Mason sobbed, pounding his fist into the firm concrete wall; he had never seen her so powerless, so weak and fragile... it just wasn't like her. He had written her a letter, a troubled letter at that, and had been grasping it between his index finger and thumb unbearably tight, to the point of having already torn the outside envelope. He bit his lip bitterly, slumping to the floor in a heap. All those times she had whispered to him memories of love, holding him dear and close to the point of bursting, and showing him none other than the cheery, bubbly side of a human being, and for what? To then shove him to the side with none other than a broken bottle of booze, and the red scarf her mother had barely been able to afford? No. "You son of a bitch," he muttered under his breath. Wobbling on his knees, hardly able to stand, he managed to get his face close to hers; she said nothing. He wiped the tears and sweat off his face, unwilling to clear her face of filth as well, instead keeping his voice as clear as he could manage. "Lotus," he weeped, slowly rising from his sunken knees to a straight, lenient back. He took in a large breath, then shoved it back out of his shrill lungs; "WHY DID YOU DO THIS?!" • • • Hey guys! I know it's been a while, but I'm back, and with more stories than ever! This is a sample of what's to come in my new story, "Turn Back Lotus", a story about a girl that shows nothing but lies to everyone that she meets/loves, given her unusual circumstances. However, when meeting Mason, a lonely boy that receives life pressures from both sides of his family, her life changes dramatically, however, it is not confirmed wether she will be able to turn to face humanity again, or perhaps suffer the consequences of past actions that have been kept in wraps for not doing so.. anyways, I hope you enjoy my story, please enjoy and don't forget to leave feedback!

This is a story about a girl who struggles to be like the rest after being born with the greatest disadvantage. Her idea goes even further beyond her expectations...

"Life is a challenge. One that many people can't handle. In my sixteen years of living on Earth I have come to the conclusion that I can't handle it. I struggle with my emotions. I break down. I push people away, even though I feel so lonley. I blame myself for my parents death and I know my sister does too." Stopping to catch my breath, I look up at him and move slightly closer. I stroke my fingers down his cheek one last time. "If you still love me, Xavier, are you prepared to handle this challenge?"

This is a bundle of the poems I wrote that I liked, but most not necessarily enough to make it it's own 'story' and it seems easier to organize things this way. It is also a slight compilation of my thought ponders, just little things that I wrote to get feelings out, or to practice poetry in a different way. To make my writings more impactful, without being an exact poem. You will know which ones are my favorite based on how close they are to the front of the list. And at the bottom I might tell you that, and add a little explanation for the piece. So keep an eye out for the order of submissions changing, because I will put my least favorite at the end, and they will also appear the most recent even though they are not. I tried to categorize these as appropriately as possible. ***This one is for my more darker, deeper poems/thoughts/prompts.*** But I plan to make other compilations that fit more brighter topics, or ones to be uncategorized. So checkout my PART 2 for the more *uplifting* things :) Some of these are quite old (sorry I rarely kept record of dates), I have not written long poetry in at least two years (counting back from this date at 6/25/17) But I have written some small things here and there. This is a re-upload of my old poetry compilation, but with better poems. Let me know what you love, what could be changed, what could be added to, or what could be it's own thing! I absolutely without a doubt do not like everything I write, but it's good to get some of it out there, for the ones who might, and maybe to help me improve, or to give something for everyone to relate to.

Ama is happily alone with her hundreds of books and a beautiful forest surrounding her. Her father, a reclusive author, and her mother, a scientist studying the rare bird and other animals that live on their island, make the perfect quiet family. When her parents announce that they are going on vacation, Ama is sad but knows her parents need to get out. But when a hurricane thousands of miles away displaces a family they have known for years, Ama is shocked to hear that her mom has invited them to stay at their house. Ama is forced to host the family all by herself, and even worse, a boy her age. Follow Ama on her forced journey of outside socialization, and her developing relationship with Kendrick.

I've never had a real life. Everyday it's just test after test to morph me into a killer. I'm beginning to believe they've succeeded.

Through them, she finds two jobs to sustain her life after her savings runs out and learns how to navigate her new life in this foreign town.

On a far away island called Haven, Adriana tries to make the most of her life. If it were up to her, every day would be the same. She thinks it's the easiest and most predictable life to live. In return Monique's curiosity about Adriana is piqued by her distant attitude towards everything except her friends. No one is more of an opposite to Adriana than Monique, the most social girl anyone has ever seen. When they have to work together on an assignment for school, it leaves them with tons of questions about the island. All their lives they've been told that either nothing or danger lies ahead, but how truthful were those words really? Is the island really the trusted safe haven as they've been all their lives?

A story of a teenage girl, trying to escape from reality. Attempting to succeed, she finds herself within a world of her own... I inspired myself to write this, searching for a reason as to why this sudden empty feeling hit me.
