*ON HOLD* *Previously known as Expiration Date* Every single day I get up and I feel my heart stop- just a bit. This is not me- I am not this person I let everyone see, someone happy and good humored. I am scared. But who isn't right? I can't let people hurt me, so I hurt myself. I don't want your pity- I want closure. I want to know what happened that night- the night that changed everything. Running. Forces. Why?! Siarrah Miller can silence anyone by saying the word. Yori Lisp is blind. He can see important people. Uni Barch can smell sickness. Toni Gateago can taste breakfast after he's eaten five hours ago. Lilly can make people calm down, or panic, by touching them. Together they must evade capture. It doesn't matter who it is, good or evil, all will be lost.

Trapped in a suffocating world of her own mind, a young woman named Blue finds herself lost in a sea of wildflowers, a constant reminder of the life she's never known. Meanwhile, a mysterious doppelganger emerges, embodying the freedom and rebellion she's always desired. Clad in leather, this mirror image lives the life she's always dreamed of, but it never was a dream to be with a man incapable of love. As the trapped woman's memories of past relationships resurface, she's forced to confront the scars that have held her back. But as she becomes increasingly obsessed with her doppelganger's life, she realizes that reminiscing about the past can be a destructive force, threatening to consume her entirely. Told in three separate timelines of denial, anger, and acceptance of the ending of one relationship and the beginning of the complex nature of coming to terms with the ending of a one-sided love story. The short story is an epistolary which refers to their not being the utilization of dialogue and is told through the presence of imagery and sensory details that convey the story's message through the eyes of the main protagonist. Inspired by Billie Eilish's haunting song 'Wildflowers', this short story is a poignant exploration of the devastating consequences of nostalgia and the struggle to break free from the shackles of past heartaches.
