We had a free book mobile at the truck n treat and i went inside to grab a free book. After wandering and seeing the covers, the book stood out to me. The golden foil, 7- headed serpents and what stood out to me the most was the girl in the center holding a bow. She was Indian? and wearing a kurta? I stared at the book and without a second thought grabbed it and ran out the book mobile ready to go home. I read the Serpent's Secret when I was 10, and this book held a special place in my heart. Being Bengali, it was amazing to see representation of my culture. Fast-forward: I'm now 17, and stumbled on this book after cleaning my room and reread it again. I loved the idea and concept, but the writing was to say the least, a bit cringe... To her(author) defense, it was meant for 12 year olds, But what if it got a rewrite for teenagers, instead of middle schooler. Soo... I wanted to edit this book. (okay, slightly rewrite it) Here's some changes I made: Made Kiran 16 instead of 12, cause why do 12 years old have get traumatized? Fixed the cringey writing added more description increase the stakes and make Kiran a bit more badass More banter with Neel- I wanted more romance so i added it lol more Niran obv and some others I forgot to mention Without further ado, thank you!
