A story about two teenage girls (Mikayla and Leeh) who meet a new boy who lives between two towns. The girls both meet him and after a short time, both start dating him. Eventually, a very troubled Mikayla moves to a new school adjacent to her current one, which happens to be the school Leeh goes to! The girls soon become best friends, and reveal a very dark side of themselves.

With seemingly no problems in her plan, for the first time in her life, things seem to shaping up for Esmerelda and she is finally in control. Until she meets Dirk, Darcie's imaginary friend. Everyone in the tiny town refers to Dirk as if he's a real person, saving him seats and tables, having conversations with him, and blaming problems or praises on him. Ezy seems to be the only person who isn't going along with the game. But as the day goes by and Dirk continues to make his presence known, Esmerelda begins to question everything she knows. What will become of her now if Penn doesn't take her? Will she ever be truly alone again? What separates fantasy from reality? Is she making the right decisions? And most importantly... Is it possible for belief alone, to make something alive?
