Val Ambers is a girl who keeps to herself. Reads indoors all day, doesn't get out much. More like at all. She loves to learn new things by the internet. Different languages, new fancy meals to cook, making sweaters, etc. On one of the rare days she's out she bumps into Fritz Duncan. Fritz Duncan is your typical good looking boy next door. But life is not easy when you're deaf. Living in a small town where no one can hand sign makes Fritz's life lonely. They might just be what the other one needs. A girl who knows sign language and a boy who can show her the world outside her house.
