The sketchbook lay open, pages curled at the edges, filled with lines she never meant to draw. His face stared back at her-smudged, incomplete, yet unmistakably him. She sighed, pressing the tip of the pencil against his sketched smile. It wasn't fair. She turned the page. Now, in a crowded university hallway, he leaned against the wall like he belonged there. "Still pretending you don't care?" Rivan's voice held a smirk, but his eyes said something else. She hated that she knew the difference. "He was my childhood tutor. Now, he's my classmate. If this is fate, I want a refund." A flicker of silver caught her eye-the handmade guitar pick spinning between his fingers. Her guitar pick. She had made it without thinking. "Look here idiot-" "Anan" he simply said. Why is he looking at me like that. He looks interesting with his shirt folded up to his elbow. "What" i am so pissed off and so confused at once. This guy has been doing nothing but running my emotions up and down. "My name, Anan not weird-looking guy, idiot or jerk face" he smiled. Why is he smiling? The last time I remembered, he was always having this annoying but fine smirk. I have no clue why we are having a conversation and not the fight I planned on the way here. I made up an entire speech while comming here. Maybe it is his face, I knew i should have wore something to cover my entire face, that way i won't be able to see his tempting face. "Do you have anything to say, Miss?" Of course he is smirking and obviously enjoying my discomfort. "Adeela" "What" oh now he is confused, the last time I checked he was the one who started the first name thing. "My name, Adeela" I smiled sweetly. Two can play the game. "Of course, your name, Adeela." He smiled tightly. Oh my god! Why can't he call my name the way people call it, why does his own sounds special and intoxicating. I should get out of here. "Ummm, sir, if you would excuse me sir, I would like to return back to my office. The work on my desk won't magically be done" He raised his eyebrow at me before smirking. "Oh, I thought you were here to humour me." He smirked while I eyed him angrily. Why does my emotions runs high when I am with him. "Certainly not, the company wouldn't run it self, would it?" A year ago I challenged myself to write a poem without punctuation marks, and came up with this. The poem has a single end-stop and can be read with pauses after each line or treated as a single sentence in its entirety. I suggest giving both the methods a shot.
