100-word story for the January 9, 2026 weekend write-in prompt - freeze

What happens when someone you once knew returns to your life? Do things go back to the way they were? Are emotions involved? Do people get hurt? Those were the questions going through Elle Paterson's mind when Nick Ross reentered her life. Elle was what one would refer to as the "nerd," when classifying different social standings in high school. She didn't think the same way as everyone around her, and because of that, the kids at her school didn't really understand her. All she saw at school were the snobby girls she couldn't wait to get away from. She was hanging on by a thread, and then, when she least expected it, Nick Ross was there to catch her. It's an odd romance, with twists and turns, the occasional best friend debacle, hint of jealousy, and rich airhead to screw things up. High school has always been a challenge, but who knew a private school could really have this much drama?

I was 11 when my mom took me to skiing/snowboarding camp. I did not think it was a good idea at first, but I never regret it! Kendall was a spoiled rich kid as she showed off her skills and thought she was better than everyone including me. I worked hard at camp as it was announced we would be competing in a small skiing competition! What will happen? Read to find out!

A short little rant of why I hate skiing.

Rachel,Claudia,and Anna McCauley have both been involved in winter sports for years. Rachel was a figure skater,Claudia was a snowboarder,and Anna was a skier. Together,they decided to compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. They will face many trials as they compete such as competition and problems with others.

Nick and Elle. They were the perfect couple. Young, cute, smart, rich, spoiled, and different--they were a match made in heaven. Nick let his perfect relationship go when he decided that skiing was more important than Elle. A year later, they're both in college. The same college. What will happen between Nick and Elle when they're forced to interact with each other again? Will they unearth the feelings they've kept from each other, or will their paths just temporarily cross? Throw some complications in here and there, and you have yourself a story!

Really Slow updates! * After moving for the seventh time since elementary school, Scarlet is determined to get through senior year, and hopefully get a scholarship for alpine ski racing. She doesn't plan on making a bunch of friends, or getting close to anyone. That proves to be harder than she thought with Jayden Snow in all of her classes AND apparently the best skier on the team. * Jayden's always been the best at almost everything he does. He gets the grades, the girls, and most of all he's REALLY good at skiing. But what happens when a new girl moves to town, one who can seemingly avoid his charm, and is equally good at skiing? She challenges him in everything and Jayden is determined to stay on top.

To take your little ones with you on your ski vacation, it's your first time and on giving them ski lessons, you've got your mind set. But for you to enjoy the rest of the trip and to learn how to ski, this can make it difficult for your kids and separation anxiety can kick in.
