"Turnout" is a project that only took me 2 days to write, well, two where I was actually awake- The songs in this book are a mix. For example, "In My Mind" and "You're My One" are a lot sweeter and softer than "Hello, Again" and the title track, "Turnout" That title track is probably the deepest in this book and stems from a point of genuine concern that I feel. Sometimes I wake up and write nothing and I wonder if I've lost it. Sometimes the lines are weak and I feel like I'm faded. So "Turnout" was almost an admission of the fear of being washed up. Being irrelevant. Just in general losing what you have.
