At the High Peaks Campground, two brothers find themselves to be the victims of an infamous deranged serial killer. After they lose their parents in the attack, Lawrence tries to live with the crippling trauma, meanwhile, his brother Marshall remains missing at the campground. Lawrence eventually returns to the campground, an act which would push him fully into mania. He unknowingly follows in the footsteps of his parents' killer until he finds his brother.

The story focuses on a teenage girl named Juno Turner, who's tactical mind is both her strongest weapon and her greatest weakness. Her father passed away when she was 12 years old and her mother started to work overtime, becoming stressed and having no idea how to handle Juno. The disappearance of a teenage boy named Toby Rogers had the whole town on edge, while Juno was just 15 years old at the time. A girl in her class was talking about it nonstop, as the boy vanished without a trace after his house was mysteriously set on fire, analyzing every little thing. Juno watched her classmate become obsessed with true crime cases and serial killers and eventually, she went missing too -- the Nina Hopkins case was widely mentioned in the news for months. At 16, Juno was wrongly admitted to a mental institution but strange things started happening. She started to realize some thoughts may not be entirely hers. After a tragedy, she flees to the woods to seek shelter. ...but as Juno enters the woods, she's about to experience a horrifying adventure.
