Born and raised in the Czech Republic by a single father, who taught them how to be tough and strong. They were half-black and LGBTQ+, So they were discriminated during their life, but they grew to be an independent, strong, chaotic joy to be around. And when Veronika joined the Hazbin Hotel, a rehabilitation center run by the princess of hell, they caught the interest of the infamous Radio Demon himself, Alastor. Who was also discriminated for being a person of color, and raised by a single parent. Over time, the two grow to establish themselves as friends, and had an interesting relationship together. Constantly bickering, poking fun, and causing chaos. ... But what happens when one begins to slowly fall for the other, and is afraid of commitment to the other person? In the middle of a crisis, nonetheless?

What if the events in Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid" were to map onto real life events in the 21st century? This is a story about resilience for all the fish out of water, especially those who have attempted a PhD program or experienced a one-sided love. Spoiler alert: You always have a choice. Each section starts with a poem or part of Andersen's fairy tale translated from German source material. #livingmymermaidlife
