He was all of these things before he became the man we know from the canon. Each phase of his life had its own place, causes and consequences, and they all coexisted to create one of the most complex and discussed characters in the whole saga. This fic aims to understand exactly how Severus Snape became Severus Snape. From the age of fifteen until that fateful Halloween night. ...or Severus Snape's slow descent into madness and involvement with a dark cult of wizarding terrorists.

We all have our secrets, which we maybe can't tell anybody. Sometimes we are about to share them, to get rid of the weight on our shoulders, but our mouth just won't obey and we can't. We just can't. But if we told someone, maybe that would change our life. Who knows...... What if there were characters in the Wizarding world who had such secrets, who wanted to tell somebody, who maybe wanted to send a letter to confide in someone. But they never did, so we never found out about it. What if there were letters in the Wizarding world, that were never sent, but which could have changed the whole history of magic as we know it?

She wanted to help them. Help all of them. She wanted to gather them in an embrace so tight, she could erase all of the darkness, and leave them with nothing but light. What a world that would be, Lily Evans mused. If casual and intimate embraces could erase all of a person's sorrows that lay lurking in their past and envelop their future in light. The last thing on Severus Snape's checklist when he leaves for Hogwarts is falling in love. But as he soon discovers, his childhood best friend is sure to change that. From befriending Gryffindors to losing loved ones, things are going out of hand. And there's nothing he can do about it. Author's note: Some things from the books and the movies will be changed here, because this story's ending is different from the Harry Potter series' ending. Severus was poking around in his breakfast annoyed. Since yesterday, he had the feeling that his stomach would turn around all the time. He was sick. It's so bad, he's about to vomit. But Severus was in a good physical condition. It was his heart that made him feel that way. He looked over to the table of the Gryffindors. Although Severus knew the pain was unbearable when he saw Lily and James together, he simply couldn't help it. The girl he loved so much was now dating the boy who had been bullying and teasing him for years. What did Lily see in James that Severus didn't have? Was it the black hair? The dark eyes? Or perhaps the fact that Severus was a Slytherin after all? Possibly something he wasn't even thinking about? Something so simple, but still enough to keep away Lily from loving the quiet boy from Spinner's End? A teenage drama-romance focusing on the pairings of Snape/Lily and James/Lily (English isn't my first language. Please excuse grammar mistakes and translation mistakes.)
